About the role
The Assistant Sales Manager supports driving revenue growth, developing the sales team's capability, and ensuring consistent execution of sales strategies across Precise's full brand portfolio. This role bridges strategic direction from sales leadership with hands-on team supervision, coaching, and client relationship management. Team Leadership & Development • Supervise and coordinate daily activities of the sales team, ensuring targets and KPIs are tracked and met • Own the day-to-day learning and development of the sales team — identify skill gaps, coach reps on product knowledge, negotiation, and consultative selling, and coordinate training needs with HR/L&D • Provide structured performance feedback and support individual development plans for team members • Step in for the Sales Manager in their absence, maintaining continuity in decision-making and team direction Sales Strategy & Execution • Support the Sales Manager in developing and refining sales strategy across the full portfolio — including account prioritization, territory coverage, and cross-brand selling opportunities • Translate strategic targets into actionable plans for the team and monitor execution • Manage and grow relationships with key accounts, distributors, and high-value clients • Handle escalated client issues, negotiations, and closing of major deals alongside the Sales Manager • Monitor competitor activity and market trends to inform pricing and positioning Stakeholder & Industry Network • Leverage and expand a network of stakeholders across the building, construction, and real estate industry (architects, contractors, developers, property managers) to generate leads and partnerships • Represent Precise at industry events, site visits, and stakeholder meetings • Identify relevant industry events, trade shows, and exhibitions and coordinate team availability/participation to maximize networking reach and revenue-generation opportunities • Identify and recommend potential expansion, sponsorship, and partnership opportunities arising from industry relationships and events; support the Sales Manager in evaluating and developing these opportunities • Track outcomes from event participation and partnership discussions, and report back to the Sales Manager Reporting & Performance Tracking • Compile and analyze sales performance data (individual, team, and brand-level) • Prepare regular sales reports for the Sales Manager and management team • Track pipeline health, conversion rates, and forecast accuracy Cross-functional Coordination • Liaise with marketing on lead generation, promotions, and product launches • Coordinate with inventory/operations to ensure product availability aligns with sales commitments • Work with HR on recruitment, onboarding, and training needs for the sales team
Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Sales, or related field • 5–7 years of sales experience, with at least 2–3 years in a supervisory or team-lead capacity • Experience in building solutions, construction materials, lighting, or related B2B/B2C sales preferred • Established network of stakeholders in the building, construction, and/or real estate industry • Must own a car (role requires regular client/site visits) • Must reside on or in close proximity to Lekki Phase 1 • Strong negotiation, relationship management, and communication skills • Demonstrated ability to coach and develop a sales team • Proficiency with CRM tool and sales reporting/analytics Key Competencies • Leadership & Team Development • Strategic & Commercial Acumen • Relationship Management & Networking • Negotiation & Influencing • Results Orientation • Cross-functional Collaboration • Adaptability & Resilience
