About the role
The Head, Commercial Finance & Procurement will be a key business partner to the CFO and leadership team, responsible for strengthening commercial economics, procurement performance, pricing discipline, working-capital efficiency and inventory decisions. This role combines finance, procurement and commercial judgement and is designed for someone who is comfortable challenging decisions with data. Key Responsibilities 1. Own product, project and customer profitability analysis, including pricing, gross margin and return-on-capital reviews. 2. Build and maintain robust landed-cost models covering supplier cost, FX, freight, duties, clearing, logistics and relevant financing costs. 3. Lead procurement commercial strategy, including supplier negotiations, payment terms, rebates, discounts, credit terms and sourcing economics. 4. Establish purchasing controls so material inventory commitments are supported by demand, project pipeline, stock velocity or strategic rationale. 5. Create management dashboards covering inventory in warehouse, inventory in transit, ageing, turnover, committed stock, total exposure and inventory-to-debt relationships. 6. Partner with the CFO on working capital, debt maturity visibility, cash-flow planning and capital-allocation decisions. 7. Evaluate major business investments and procurement decisions using scenarios for margin, FX, financing, stock turns and cash conversion. 8. Work closely with Sales and Operations to improve forecast accuracy, stock availability and profitable revenue conversion.
Requirements
1. 7-10+ years of experience in commercial finance, FP&A, business partnering, procurement finance, supply-chain finance, treasury, corporate finance or a related role. 2. Strong working knowledge of landed cost, pricing, inventory, working capital and profitability analysis. 3. Excellent financial modelling and Excel skills; strong comfort working with management data and business cases. 4. Demonstrated commercial negotiation ability and confidence challenging procurement or sales decisions constructively. 5. Experience in import-led, inventory-heavy, distribution or project-based businesses is highly desirable. 6. Background in HVAC, electrical, building systems, industrial products, construction materials, FMCG distribution or related sectors is an advantage.
